Social interventions boost women's quality of life

THE quality of life for women in Kerala has improved due to social interventions, P Satheedevi, chairperson of the State Women's Commission, has said.
She was addressing a public hearing for women workers under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) held here on Friday.
As women stepped out of their homes and became active in schemes such as Kudumbashree, MGNREGA and Haritha Karma Sena, they gained employment, income, self-esteem and confidence, she said.
