IN Assam's Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), a series of land reforms is now paving the way for renewed dignity and empowerment of the landless indigenous population.

- PRASANTA MAZUMDAR @Guwahati

As part of the reforms, the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), which rules the BTR, on Sunday launched 'Mission Bwiswmuthi 2.0' to secure land rights for 47,000 indigenous landless families, including 9,000 small tea growers and rubber farmers.

Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya distributed land allotment certificates to the beneficiaries at a function held in Baksa.
