The 9th Peetadhipathi of Sharnbasaveshwar Samasthan, Poojya Chiranjeevi Doddappa Appaji, along with Matoshree Dakshayini Avvaji, chairperson of Sharnabasaveshwar Vidya Vardhak Sangha, and Basavaraj Deshmukh, secretary of the Sangha, have expressed heartfelt gratitude to devotees and dignitaries who paid homage to the mortal remains of the 8th Peetadhipathi, Poojya Sharnbaswappa Appaji, on August 15.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, they thanked the state government for extending full state honours to the departed spiritual leader and ensuring the smooth conduct of the last rites.
Special appreciation was conveyed to Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar for travelling to Kalaburagi by special flight to personally offer his respects, accompanied by Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge, senior officials of the district administration and police.
