Man Gets Death Penalty for Rape, Murder of Minor

A man from Belagavi was found guilty of raping and murdering a minor girl, and the Mangaluru court has sentenced him to the death penalty by way of hanging.
Fakirappa Hanamappa Madara, 58, from Hanichinala village, Savadatti taluk, is the person convicted.
The minor girl who hails from Belagavi was a student at a Morarji Desai Residential School at Konaje.
The victim's mother had left for her native village, dropping her daughter off at a relative's house, asking to drop her off at school.
On August 6, 2024, the victim was alone at the house as her uncle had gone for work while her aunt had gone to her native village.
