BCC to get ₹135 crore for waste management under CITIIS-2.0

A quadrilateral agreement has been signed for Rs 135 crore grant for Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) under the CITIIS-2.0 programme of the Union government.
The deal was signed between the Centre and state representatives, including KUIDFC managing director Sharath, BCC commissioner B Shubha and MD of Belagavi Smart City Project Syeda Afreen Banu Belagavi in the presence of Union Minister for Urban Development Manohar Lal at an event in Jodhpur, Rajasthan on Monday.
According to Shubha, the grant has been allocated exclusively to Belagavi city for solid waste management (SWM).
Belagavi is the only city in Karnataka to receive the grant under CITIIS-2.0.
The City Investments to Innovate, Integrate and Sustain 2.0 (CITIIS 2.0) programme is part of India's Smart Cities Mission.
