2 More Maternal Deaths in BIMS, Kin Blame it on Docs
The New Indian Express Kalaburagi
|February 06, 2025
THERE seems to be no end to maternal deaths in the Ballari Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS). In a span of one week, two maternal deaths were reported.
A 30-year-old Kampli taluk resident and a 25-year-old Ballari city woman died after giving birth. Relatives alleged that the deaths were due to BIMS doctors' negligence after a caesarean section.
In the last two months, 12 maternal deaths were reported in the BIMS and earlier, the deaths were due to use of banned IV for mothers. Now, again a panic situation is created in the BIMS.
On January 4, Rashmi Bhi and January 12, Mahadevi of Kampli taluk were admitted for delivery at the BIMS. In both the cases, C-section was done by BIMS doctors and during the hospital admission, two were not suffering from any major health issues, but they passed away.
