South states won't lose parl seat due to delimitation: Shah

UNION Home minister Amit Shah on Wednesday assured the southern states that they will not lose even a "single parliamentary seat" due to delimitation and accused Chief Minister MK Stalin of spreading "misinformation" on the issue.

"No southern state, including Tamil Nadu, would see a reduction in parliamentary representation when delimitation is done on pro-rata basis. The CM and his son (Udhayanidhi) have taken up some issues to divert public attention. On what basis is he (Stalin) saying that Tamil Nadu would lose parliamentary seats due to the delimitation process," Shah asked.

Addressing BJP members after inaugurating the party's new district headquarters building at Peelamedu in Coimbatore, Shah also rejected Stalin's claims of "injustice" to the state in the allocation of central funds, saying the Narendra Modi government has provided ₹5,08,337 crore to Tamil Nadu in 10 years from 2014 to 2024.
