Mr. Srikanth Kotti, the owner of The Diamond Store by Chandubhai, is a well-known name in Hyderabad's jewellery industry. Over the years, he has built a strong reputation for crafting exquisite, custom-made designer jewellery, particularly for weddings and other milestone occasions. His expertise and commitment to quality have made him a preferred jeweller among Hyderabad's elite, with many recommending his curated designs. In this exclusive interview, he shares insights into his journey, inspirations, and the future of his brand.
2. What inspired you to start a diamond jewellery business in Hyderabad?
As a third-generation jeweller, I have had the privilege of carrying forward the legacy of my father, Mr. Chandraprakash (fondly known as Chandubhai). I grew up learning the intricacies of the trade under his guidance, while also acquiring technical expertise in jewellery manufacturing and gemology from reputed institutes like GIA, as and when required. My father was primarily involved in gold-studded jewellery retail, and I initially followed in his footsteps by venturing into gold-studded jewellery manufacturing in 2011. At that time, there was a noticeable rise in customer interest in diamond jewellery, and people were becoming more confident in investing in diamonds. Recognizing this shift in market demand, we made a strategic transition in 2017, shifting our focus entirely to diamond jewellery. This decision allowed us to channel all our energy and resources into a business that was naturally evolving and expanding.
