Muslim leaders opt against use of DJs this Eid Milad
The New Indian Express Hubballi
|September 02, 2025
MEMBERS of the Gadag Jamat-Ulama-E-Hind, along with representatives from the Naujawan Committee and the Eid Milad Committee, have resolved to forgo DJs and sound systems in favour of a peaceful celebration of Eid Milad.
In a press conference held in Gadag, the leaders insisted on their commitment to help the impoverished and those in need during this festival.
Numerous Muslim leaders have appealed to Gadag's Superintendent of Police (SP) Rohan Jagadish to prohibit use of any DJs or sound systems, pointing out that the noise could disturb the elderly, patients, pregnant women, and other residents.
This initiative has gained considerable support from the community, as many recognise that the use of DJs contributes to sound pollution, which has been linked to an increase in cardiac incidents.
