Damages were caused by incessant rain and floods that led to overflowing of streams in Dharwad district
The joint survey conducted by the Revenue, Agriculture and Horticulture Departments to assess the crop damages due to incessant rains and floods due to overflowing of streams in Dharwad district, has found a total crop loss in 93,496.98 hectares, of which 88,970.90 hectares are agricultural crops and 4,526.08 hectares are horticultural crops.
Subsequently, the district administration has published a draft list of affected farmers for the crop loss compensation.
Since the farmers in the district have faced significant losses due to natural disasters such as floods and heavy rainfall in August, the administration has requested a joint survey to determine compensation for crop damage.
