The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday held day-long deliberations with the Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of all states and Union Territories to showcase the modalities adopted in Bihar as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state.

The poll panel now plans to conduct similar exercise in the rest of the country.
This was the third such meeting of CEOs after Gyanesh Kumar took over as the Chief Election Commissioner in February. Wednesday's meeting assumed significance as the preparedness of a pan-India SIR was discussed, officials said.
