MAHANAGAR Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) on Tuesday disclosed that it has defaulted on payments of ₹8,584.93 crore to seven banks.

MTNL Defaults on Payments of ₹8,584 Cr to 7 Public Sector Banks

In a regulatory filing, the telecom company stated that the amount includes both principal and interest.

The banks affected by the defaults and their respective dates of classification as non-performing assets (NPA) are: Union Bank of India (UBI), Bank of India (BOI), Punjab National Bank (PNB), State Bank of India (SBI), UCO Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB), and Indian Overseas Bank (IOB).
