Lights on! Frontier Villages Emerge From Days of Darkness and Tension
The New Indian Express Chennai
|May 11, 2025
The blackout across Gujarat's Jamnagar, Kutch, and the border villages of Vav and Suigam—imposed in the wake of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan—was lifted after a ceasefire was announced between the two countries in the evening.
Just hours earlier, drones were shot down at five sites across the Kutch district amid a barrage of artillery strikes. An unidentified aerial object was also sighted at the border, heightening fears. The Indian Army later shot it down, and investigations are now on to determine whether the object is indeed a drone or a missile.
