Flipkart to buy back $50 mn ESOP; to benefit 7,000 staff

ECOMMERCE major Flipkart has announced employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) buy-back valued at $50 million (428 cr) and this is expected to benefit about 7,000 employees.
This comes at a time when the Walmart-owned ecommerce firm prepares for an initial public offer that is expected in early 2026. A Flipkart spokesperson confirmed the ESOP buy-back to TNIE. Earlier in 2023, it announced a $700 million ESOP buyback.
