Wipro says priority is growth as profit down 8%

WIPRO on Friday reported an 8% decrease in its consolidated net profit for the March quarter at 2,835 crore compared to ₹3,074 crore in the year-ago period. The company's revenue in Q4 stood at 22,208 crore, 4% fall from ₹23,190 crore it posted in the same quarter last year.

The company has kept the revenue guidance to (-) 1.5% to 0.5% for the June quarter.

Addressing his first earnings conference after taking over as Wipro's new chief executive officer and managing director Srini Pallia said the immediate priority is to accelerate growth. He spoke about five focus areas including accelerating large deal momentum by working closely with clients and partners, strengthening relationships with its large clients and partners. It will also focus on accounts that have the potential to grow into larger engagements.
