EIGHT workers at the under-construction Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel in Telangana were trapped after a portion of its roof collapsed about 14 km from Domalapenta in Nagarkurnool district, around 8.30 am on Saturday.
Telangana minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy said the government had requested the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Army to help with the rescue operations.
