AFTER a prolonged debate, the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Friday passed the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Bill, 2025.
The government hailed the bill as a significant step in safeguarding parents' rights across the capital. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasised that the bill would restore public trust in the education system by ensuring transparency. She described the bill as a decisive law to curb the arbitrary actions of private schools and establish fairness and accountability in education. The bill was passed with majority support in the Assembly. All eight amendments proposed by the AAP MLAs, including Leader of Opposition Atishi, were rejected in the voting.
