THE Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday declared the results of classes XII and X board exams. 

Pass percentage in CBSE board drops

The board registered an overall pass percentage of 87.33 percent in class XII. Last year, the pass percentage was 92.71 percent. Of the 16,60,511 students who had appeared for the class XII board exams, only 14,50,174 students successfully cleared the examination.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet congratulated the students. "I congratulate all the #ExamWarriors who have successfully passed the CBSE class XII examinations. I am proud of these youngsters for their hard work and determination. I also congratulate their parents and teachers for their monumental role in the success of the youngsters," the Prime Minister tweeted. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also extended his congratulations and best wishes to CBSE class XII students.
