MoS defence says can't share data on manpower shortage in armed forces

IN a rare response, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) refused to share the data on manpower shortage in the Armed Forces of the country.
Sanjay Seth, the Minister of State for Defence, cited "national security" as the reason for not divulging the details in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha. "The information sought is a sensitive operational matter concerning national security and it would not be in the national security interest to divulge related details in the public domain," said Seth.
