March of the Maxi Clutch

Nineties are back! At the recent spate of maxi clutches populating our IG feed would prove that. But, first, let's go to the decade's cult show, Sex and the City, where Carrie Bradshaw (essayed by Sarah Jessica Parker) is spotted with a Christian Dior jacquard clutch as she hops into a taxi. It was a statement-making accessory that conveyed a sense of both style and functionality. The oversized clutches by brands like Coach, THEMOIRE, New York, H&M and many more, channels a classic vibe with a touch of modern flair.

Over 25 bags, crafted in different materials, easily stand out—some are heart-shaped, others are most pillowy, while some are informed by the shape of a teddy bear. On the other hand, Balenciaga's maxi clutch from SS 24 embodies a sleek, polished appeal. Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali notes that there's something about the way a woman handles a bag. The way she carries it completely transforms her ensemble, and changes her overall appearance. I see the maxi clutch as it's voluminous and also makes for a seamless day-to-night transition. The trend is here to stay, and many labels are jumping on the current bandwagon.
