JLR Halts Shipments to US as Tariff on Imported Cars Raised

FOLLOWING the US government's decision to introduce a 25% tariff on imported cars, which came into effect on Thursday, Tata Motors' British luxury car company, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), is temporarily halting shipments of its British-made vehicles to the United States.

JLR said it needed time to work to address the new trading terms of Donald Trump's tariffs. "The USA is an important market for JLR's luxury brands. As we work to address the new trading terms with our business partners, we are taking some short-term actions including a shipment pause in April, as we develop our mid- to longer-term plans," a JLR spokesperson was quoted saying.
