On Dec 3, court ordered shifting of toxic waste to Pithampur in 4 wks
THE Madhya Pradesh High Court granted on Monday six weeks to the state government to act on the disposal of Union Carbide factory's waste in Dhar district's Pithampur industrial town.
On December 3, 2024, the HC, while hearing a 2004 petition (seeking removal of toxic waste from the defunct Union Carbide factory in Bhopal) had directed to remove the toxic waste from the Bhopal factory and send it to Pithampur within four weeks for safe disposal of the material/waste.
