Grim reality belies development plank, Gujarat schools lack toilets

The Central government statistics indicated that 105 government schools in Gujarat still lack toilet facilities, while 12 remain without drinking water, raising serious concerns about the state's progress claims.

These figures starkly contrast with 2023 statistics, which stated that of the 34,699 government schools, 33,219 were equipped with boys' toilets, and 33,516 had toilets for girls.
