Flood alert sounded as heavy rains batter Gujarat

HEAVY rains have been pounding South Gujarat for the past 24 hours, causing normal life to be thrown out of gear in the region on Monday, prompting a red alert in a few areas.
The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of the region over the next 24 hours. As a result of the downpour, districts like Porbandar, Junagadh, and Devbhumi Dwarka are grappling with waterlogging, leading to traffic congestion and closures of roads, causeways, and underpasses.
