Father, son tug of war over PMK control intensifies

FORMER PMK president G.K. Mani on Friday strongly rejected the party's decision to remove him from its primary membership, asserting that only party founder Dr. S. Ramadoss had the authority to induct or expel members from the Pattali Makkal Katchi.
Addressing reporters in Salem, Mani said that Anbumani Ramadoss did not have the power to remove him from the party. He claimed that Ramadoss had already expelled Anbumani from the PMK and therefore any announcement made by him had no validity. "When Ramadoss himself has removed Anbumani from the party, how can he issue a statement expelling me?" Mani asked, reiterating that the founder alone had the authority to take such decisions.
