Review take-off parameters on Boeing series flights from June 15, submit report to regulator
IN light of the New Delhi-London Gatwick flight disaster on Thursday, the aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), ordered Air India on Friday to conduct enhanced safety checks, including a review of take-off parameters, on its Boeing series flights from June 15. It has also called for a report to be submitted to it after the order is complied with.
A senior government official told this reporter that this incident is a wake-up call to ground all Boeing 787 aircraft across India. "As of now, we do not know what caused the accident. Until that is figured out, it is best to ground this specific aircraft across India."
