|October 07, 2025
THE Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced byelections for three Assembly seats across Jammu & Kashmir and Jharkhand, setting November 11 as the polling day and November 14 as the day for counting votes.
In Jammu & Kashmir, Budgam and Nagrota will go to the polls after remaining vacant since last year. Budgam fell vacant when Chief Minister Omar Abdullah retained the Ganderbal seat, giving up Budgam after winning both constituencies. The Nagrota seat in the Jammu region has been empty since the death of BJP MLA Devender Singh Rana in November.
