K'taka govt has directed panel to complete investigation and submit report in one month
A one-member Commission of Inquiry, led by former Karnataka High Court Judge Justice Michael D'Cunha, has been set up to probe the stampede at M Chinnaswamy Stadium that claimed 11 lives during the Royal Challengers Bangalore victory celebrations on June 4.
The government has directed the commission, set up on June 5, to complete its investigation and submit its report within one month.
Justice D'Cunha is also leading an ongoing inquiry into issues flagged by the 2021 Public Accounts Committee report, which raised concerns over the purchase of medicines, medical equipment, oxygen management and deaths caused by oxygen shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic.
