Aren’t your speeches terror act as per UAPA, SC asks Sharjeel Imam

QUESTIONING the manner in which activist Sharjeel Imam, an accused in the 2020 Delhi riots case, delivered some speeches in the 2020 Delhi riots case, the Supreme Court on Tuesday asked whether it can be concluded that his speeches do not constitute incitement and terrorist acts as per the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967.
The court made the observation while hearing the student activist’s bail plea.
While rejecting the Delhi police stand, Imam told the SC that he was “not a terrorist” and claimed innocence and sought bail in the riots case.
