2 Hydro-Power, Irrigation Projects for Naxal-Hit Districts

Amid the ongoing offensive against Maoists, the Chhattisgarh government will execute two major projects -- construction of Bodhghat multipurpose dam and interlinking Indravati and Mahanadi rivers — for the economic revival of the conflict-ridden Bastar region.
The mega projects worth ₹49,000 crore remained stalled for the past 45 years. In his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the two projects hold immense potential for the progress of Maoist-hit Bastar.
