Secure estate living in demand

WHILE always in demand, secure estate living is increasingly sought after in coastal areas such as Ballito on the KZN North Coast, a location which has evolved into more of a permanent residential destination as housing spreads further north.

Such is the demand that homes within secure estates command a premium of 30% over freehold homes outside estates.

Positively, construction on the Seaton Interchange project has commenced, which will alleviate congestion and facilitate access to developments in this region. As development progresses, coupled with the surge in positive sentiment in the market regarding Sheffield and Salt Rock, we are finding local residents and those from elsewhere buying into these areas slightly further north.

As a primary residential destination, apart from Ballito, which has experienced burgeoning growth over the past decade or more, coastal hamlets slightly further up the coast such as Shaka's Rock, Salt Rock, Sheffield Beach, Tinley Manor and Blythedale, are now perceived as being within easy reach.
