Milnerton High School assault incident

THE Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) is deeply disturbed and saddened by the shocking incident at Milnerton High School, where a 16-year-old learner was allegedly assaulted by a group of older boys.

Our thoughts are with the victim, his family, and the other learners who were reportedly affected by this unacceptable act of violence. The IFP calls for swift and decisive action from both the Western Cape Department of Education and law enforcement authorities to ensure that justice is served.

Violence of any kind has no place in our schools and institutions meant to nurture, protect, and educate our children. We note the precautionary suspension of eight learners allegedly involved but emphasise that disciplinary processes must go hand in hand with criminal accountability where warranted.
