A GOVERNMENT proposal on electricity tariffs to save the Glencore Merafe Chrome Venture's ferrochrome smelters from closing will only benefit one of its three smelters, and retrenchment notices have been issued.
A SECTION of the Glencore Merafe Chrome Venture. Challenges such as high energy costs and increased competition from China have led to the suspension of the group's smelting operations.
