The Mercury
|June 13, 2025
AS the countdown to the Hollywoodbets Durban July moves to three weeks to go, all the elements that make up one of South Africa's major sporting events are dropping into place and time is running out for those looking to book their hospitality entertainment on July 5.
-
Stephen Marshall, Events and Marketing Executive for Race Coast, said early indications are that the day will exceed expectations and this year's event is on course to be confirmed as "Africa's Greatest Horse Racing and Social Event".
"Based on the indicators of where we are at the moment in terms of corporate interest and ticket sales, we believe we are looking at a bumper year and are cautiously optimistic the event will be setting new attendance records," said Marshall.
"Our marketing efforts have been increased and we are once again targeting up-country racegoers. We expect KwaZulu-Natal and Durban in particular to benefit from the influx of visitors looking to enjoy a day of great horse racing, spectacular fashion and top-class entertainment.
