I DON'T know about others, but there have been three incidents that have made me personally proud of being born and brought up in this country.
The first one was when Mandela declared in 1994 that there would be no more discrimination based on race in the country. In addition, there would be no restriction on movement.
Apartheid would be dismantled forthwith. Of course, tons of corruption followed in later years, but nothing can take away that sheer golden moment of priceless Mandela Magic when hope for a better future for all appeared as a solid vision.
The second time that I was made to feel special in the world community was when our very own judicial system took the gruesome happening just after the 7th of October, 2023, to the International Judicial Court.
