Devastated family mourns beloved mother killed in Limpopo R81 crash

THE family of one of the 12 victims who died in a tragic road accident in Limpopo on the R81 near Ga-Sekgopo on Sunday afternoon, says they will remember their 62-year-old mother as a woman deeply devoted to prayer.

The fatal crash, which occurred in the Capricorn District involved two trucks and a Toyota Quantum minibus. The deceased were all members of the Titanic International Church and were travelling home from a church service when the crash occurred.

The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) has launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.

On Monday, the affected families met with Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba at Pietersburg Hospital's recreation hall for the identification of the deceased. Tiyani Caspie Mawila said that his mother, Modjadji Rose Mawila, 62, from Giyani village, was among those killed in the crash.

“Yes, I can confirm that my mother was one of the people who were involved in the accident. When we heard the news, we were so shocked and devastated to hear that our mother had passed} he said.
