Woltemade to lead line after Wissa blow

The Journal

NEWCASTLE United's £69m man Nick Woltemade is expected to lead the line against Wolverhampton Wanderers this afternoon after the Magpies camp was rocked by Yoane Wissa's knee injury.

- LEE RYDER

No sooner had Wissa returned from international duty with DR Congo, after a defeat against Senegal, he was taken to see a specialist to discover the extent of damage to his knee after being forced off in the World Cup qualifier in Kinshasha.

Head coach Eddie Howe immediately ruled him out of action against Wolves, and Woltemade will be asked to help push Newcastle to their first win of the season. With Anthony Gordon also suspended for this clash after his red card against Liverpool, Woltemade must hit the ground running.
