Taking row about alleged Jeffrey Epstein birthday message to court may blow up in Trump's face...

- CHRISTOPHER BUCKTIN

BY going to war with Rupert Murdoch, Donald Trump is not just picking the wrong fight - he's lighting a political match in a room full of dynamite.

The President's decision to sue The Wall Street Journal over its report that he once sent a gushing 50th birthday message to his then pal Jeffrey Epstein is a catastrophic miscalculation.

If Trump wanted the Epstein scandal to stay buried - after his administration ended all investigations into Prince Andrew's paedo-phile pal - dragging it back into the spotlight is the worst possible move.

Let's be clear. This is not just another courtroom sideshow from Trump’s bloated litigation portfolio.

This is a lawsuit against the Journal, a flagship of the Murdoch media empire. Murdoch, whose support the US leader once relied on, is now in the crosshairs.
