TWO Northumberland destinations have been named among the best places in the UK to enjoy an unforgettable spring staycation.

Travel experts at Sykes Holiday Cottages have named the villages of Corbridge and Beadnell among their top locations for a short break.

Corbridge is a village that is also home to a town the English Heritage Roman Town, to be precise, where visitors will come across some of the oldest finds in Britain and get a fascinating glimpse into the history of how people lived and worked along the famous Hadrian's Wall.
