WHEN Newcastle United make the trip down to the capital on Saturday evening to take on Arsenal they will do so in very different circumstances to the last time they visited the Emirates Stadium.

- By SEAN MCCORMICK

The Toon Army descended on North London 11 months ago full of optimism, knowing if they beat Mikel Arteta's they would move up to second in the Premier League table heading into the final weekend of the 2024/25 season.

The belief was palpable having won 2-0 in the same stadium just four months previously in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal between the two sides. Newcastle would beat the Gunners 2-0 in the second leg at St James' Park, too.
