Tent pitched outside civic centre by homeless person

A HOMELESS person set up camp just metres from the entrance of a council building.

The tent was pitched outside Gateshead Civic Centre for over a week, it is understood.
Gateshead Council has stated it is aware of the situation and is engaging with the occupant and/or occupants of the tent.
The Journal was alerted to the situation at around 4pm on Monday. At the time of publishing, the makeshift home remained in place.
