Sunny skies as crowds flock to South Tyneside festival

IT’S an event that has been blighted by bad weather in the past, but warm weather greeted the large crowd that poured into Bents Park in South Shields on Sunday for the first of this year’s free concerts, with the star attraction being local lad Sonny Tennet.

South Tyneside Festival brings plenty of topnotch live music to the seaside every single summer, with huge names such as Billy Ocean, Busted, The Vamps, Sister Sledge, Will Young and Sigala all entertaining over the last decade alone.
