WHETHER Wilson Isidor is good enough for the Premier League only time will tell.

Mum's the word as big stage awaits Cats star

But the Sunderland striker says that from the moment he first kicked a football, he had one goal in mind - and one person he wanted to make proud.

“My mum, I always told her that I would be a football player since I was four or five,” he told safc.com.

“Now she can say that her son is a Premier League player. I am really proud of that.”

It's not just a personal triumph. For Isidor, stepping into the Premier League wearing red and white means everything - not only to his family, but to a club, a city, and a group of teammates who have fought tooth and nail to be here.

“I'm also thinking about the lads who were in League One with Sunderland,” Isidor added. “Now they can say they were Premier League players, so that’s amazing.”
