NORTHUMBERLAND MP has said she will continue to make the argument for upgrades to a notorious roundabout until the Government makes its decision.

Ministers are considering whether or not to give the green light to long-awaited plans to upgrade Moor Farm Roundabout near Cramlington.

The town's Labour and Coop MP Emma Foody has secured parliamentary debates on the issue twice this year, and insists she will continue to lobby ministers until the plans are approved.

Speaking to The Journal after the latest debate, Ms Foody stressed the importance of the project to the North East.

She said: "These are upgrades that our area and our region needs. Decisions won't get made until the first part of next year - between now and then, it's just continuing to make the case to transport ministers and across the board.

"It's a roundabout that nobody enjoys going on. People fear the unreliability and not knowing what the traffic is going to be like it causes day-to-day misery.
