NORTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE

SHILDON manager Chris Hughes can sense momentum building as his side look to produce a memorable end to the season by adding further silverware and promotion to their Durham Challenge Cup final win.

The Railwaymen were strong favourites ahead of Tuesday night's Stadium of Light clash with Northern League Division One rivals Whickham - and they lived up to that tag with an impressive performance.

Hughes' side went in front just before the midway point of the first-half with a neat run and finish from Ben Reay before former Sunderland youngster Nathan Greenwood doubled their lead just after half-time.
