NEWCASTLE United have arrived in Singapore without their star striker Alexander Isak ahead of a three-game tour of the Far East.

As the players shook off the effects of the journey, they were met by a local TV crew who posed questions about Isak’s absence.

The party line as the team took off for the Far East was that Isak was nursing a “minor thigh injury” but with transfer speculation rife around the star, it was met with scrutiny, not least from club legend Alan Shearer who blasted the club’s statement on Thursday.

However, team captain Bruno Guimaraes reiterated the club stance on Isak and that he remains in England for treatment.
