Loan exit for Greek keeper could suit all parties

NEWCASTLE United are hard at work attempting to secure incoming deals this summer, but there will come a time when exits could be required to balance the books.

- By AARON STOKES

The Magpies have a limited number of sellable assets at their disposal but one man, in the form of goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos, appears to be one senior player with no future at St James' Park.

The Greek goalkeeper, signed from Nottingham Forest in a reported £20m deal last summer, featured for all of 45 minutes competitively last season, falling down the pecking order to become Eddie Howe's fourth-choice goalkeeper, behind free agent addition John Ruddy.

As such, effort will be put into finding a new home for the former Benfica stopper this summer but United have a potential problem to consider when it comes to letting Vlachodimos go on a permanent deal.
