FORMER Sunderland winger Ross Wallace reckons other clubs could poach Regis Le Bris given his remarkable tenure on Wearside.

- By CLIVE YOULTON Football writer

The 40-year-old, who played for the Black Cats between 2006-2009, also believes the club will finish in the top half of the premier League after their excellent start.

Wallace, speaking to Gambling. com, was happy to discuss other factors in Sunderland's success so far and praised the likes of Granit Xhaka, Chemsdine Talbi, Wilson Isidor and Enzo Le Fee.

Asked whether Le Bris could be on the radar of tier one clubs, Wallace said: “Definitely. It’s obvious in football, if you're doing well, you're going to have the so-called’ more elite teams coming after you. That's just the nature of the beast.

“When you're at that level of work, and there's so many people involved, the owners will have people in place ready to step in. They'll have that all in place.

“But at the minute Sunderland just need to ride the wave, because when you have these moments - the season’s good, you're playing well, you're winning games - you've got to enjoy it, because it doesn’t come around very often as a player.

“For Sunderland the realistic expectations should be top half or top 10 [their aim for this season] - they'd be delighted with that.
