Landmark city office building on the market

A LANDMARK Newcastle building that was converted to office use has been put on the market.

The old post office on St Nicholas' Street had been the offices of construction consultancy firm NBS since 2016 but has been up for sale through property agents Savills for around £4m.

The building opposite Newcastle Cathedral was built in the 1870s and served as Newcastle's main post office until the 1990s, when Royal Mail moved to premises in Eldon Square and then into the WH Smith store on Northumberland Street.

The property was converted for use by architecture firm Red Box, and then taken over and converted further by NBS after Red Box went out of business.
