ENGLAND legend Teddy Sheringham still believes that Eddie Howe is the next Three Lions boss in waiting - but admits his “hands are tied" at Newcastle United due to financial restrictions.

And the former Tottenham and Man United forward feels that Howe, set to be held back by SCR rules this summer, is in a genuine scrap with the traditional top six, and Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth. Howe was a strong candidate for the England job in 2024 after Sheringham's former Euro 96 tea
